Saturday fun

We made pancakes on the wood stove Saturday morning...cranberry orange pancakes to be exact. Sprinkled with powdered sugar, they were a little like funnel cakes.

We made a trip to the cities and when we returned we discovered we had visitors on the prairie during the day. Still not sure who it was, but they looked like they had a good time! Signs of sledding and footprints on the trails were both good indications someone had been out but surely the message in the snow was the final sign. 10-15 foot letters covered part of our hill - quite impressive cursive writing too. I'm betting it was either Tricia and Danny or Cindy and Jude....

So Saturday evening the boys put our new bed frame together and then after CW was down for the night I geared up for a quiet walk by myself. Just me, the moon and the trusty snowshoes. If the coyotes we had heard earlier in the evening were still around, they were hiding well.

play sleeping and tea drinking

The first picture is CW after he's tucked in his friends and is pretending to sleep. The second picture is later that night, after the real bedtime.

This next picture reflects our usual evening routine...it involves taking off the coats, putting on the sweaters (since it's often only 40-50* inside when we get home) and putting on the water to make tea. This red sweater was knit by grandma, hence the bib.

Conrad has become quite the tea drinker. His favorite is chai (sometimes made with assam tea and sometimes made with roobios tea, but always with the yummy chai goop that makes it chai!) He will also drink green tea and white tea, but when it's up to him he always requests the chai.
