Duluth Weekend

The snow picture is first, because that was the best part of the weekend. Our friends live near a park in Duluth that is comparable to Quarry Hill, but much, much bigger and lots more trails. Saturday afternoon after lunch and some visiting (we hadn't seen them since May!) we geared up and hit the trails. Sadly, I did not have the camera on me. Conrad did great skiing, I think being on a groomed trail really helped him get a better sense of what he was doing. After a bit, he joined Norrie in the chariot and we picked up the speed. This picture was actually taken Monday morning when we sent him and Jake outside to play and burn up some energy while we were getting things packed up for the trip home.

Saturday night it got really, really cold so instead of going out again for a night ski, we watched movie. I think CW and I were the only two that didn't fall asleep during any part of the movie!

Sunday morning we had a feast and great coffee before going to church and then to the train museum.

The train museum is in the same building as the Children's Museum and an Art Museum and some other stuff. So after exploring the trains, we visited the Children's Museum.

Then we pre-warmed ourselves with vanilla steamers and dunkers, bundled up and hit the ski trails again. It started out with a little snow falling, but ended with the bright moon showing. We all turned off our headlamps and managed with just the light of the moon. When we got back, we were ready to eat the high calorie meal of Sweet and Spicy Mac n cheese (2 cups of cheese and 4 cups of cream!) And then dessert. Yum! (giant choc chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and choc sauce. We didn't really need the picture, I just sent Tim to the other room to retrieve the camera so the rest of us could get a head start - and he fell for it!)

not so busy

A couple pictures from being around home over a weekend. Conrad received a couple crafty kits from his Aunt Tammy for Christmas, which he then asked us every single day for a week to do one. Sorry buddy, we are so not going to do one at 5:30 in the morning before leaving! Our answer (for five days in a row) was this weekend, this weekend, this weekend. Saturday morning, first thing he said was "It's weekend!!". He chose the bird house to do first. Thanks Aunt Tammy - he really enjoyed working on these :)

Norrie's new thing is to move her highchair around. It's kind of like those little scooters for kids to push around as they're learning to walk. But without wheels.

Brother/sister pajama picture! Kids are so happy in the morning, at least these two. It's the afternoon and evening hours when most our meltdowns occur.
