She likes clothes

Since she could crawl and pull herself up, she's been into Conrad's clothes totes. In the beginning, it was simply to pull everything out. Conrad was very cool about it (as long as he didn't get stuck putting them all away again - he didn't think that would be fair at all and I agreed) As Norrie got older, she started pulling on shirts, underwear, pants, shoes, hats, whatever she could reach or find.

Summer - picnics and pretending

During the summer months, the kids and I do a fair share of picnicking. The yurt and prairie get just too darn hot by lunch time to eat, cook, or play. So after breakfast we pack up some food, some books, and a blanket, then drive to Rochester to find a shady park to spend a few hours before daycare and work.

I enjoyed watching Norrie pull out what she could to set this up. Shortly after these pictures were taken, I collected some play dishes and even my old picnic basket from when I was a little girl :)

August - Share with me!!

M-O-M-M-Y! (can you imagine it?)

I want a turn!

Cool.

And then she's over it.

Happy Birthday!

An August biggie was Conrad's 5th birthday! We started the day with a special Birthday breakfast. This year it was eggs and hashbrowns, fruit, more fruit, and OJ.

Next we opened gifts from mom

and dad. (okay, he was a bit more excited about the RC jeep)

testing out the new toy.

Quarry Hill Nature Center party. We had a pond theme and Mr Travis taught a Nature Class about frogs, fish, and turtles.

Conrad is feeding the fish in the big tank.

And finally, the sweet treats. We had "bug juice" (apple juice boxes), goldfish crackers, froggie cupcakes, and a turtle cupcake cake. I was thrilled how the cakes turned out, until the slightly warm day caused the frosting to get soft and slippery. Check out those frog eyes!
