Happy New Year

This year we stayed over with friends in Mantorville. They also have kids the same age as ours so everyone has a playmate.

We were there less than 20 minutes before Conrad was asking where his pajamas were, he was a bit excited about the sleepover. Why argue? So pajamas went on and then we started making pizzas. Since the oven was already fired up a batch of brownies followed. I LOVE ovens!

bedtime? They really did go to sleep without too much trouble. And pretty early. ;-)

The next morning the kids got pancakes and then played until all the adults were awake. Okay, truth be told, I was the only one that slept in! It was awesome. So after Norrie and I got up, we had an incredible breakfast of omelets, bacon and toast. What a great start to the year.

the big meltdown

Before it got too warm last week, I took the kids outside to play with the nearly perfect snow. Conrad had been asking all month to make a snowman and it was finally time. Sadly, it just continued to get warmer and warmer and by the time we left later in the afternoon our friend was already headless and shrunken.

After we had created a snowman (and dog), Conrad was ready to go in. I still had energy to burn and Norrie was peacefully sleeping in the carrier so I convinced him to go on a walk with me. He agreed when I promised he wouldn't actually have to walk. I could tell he was tired but I didn't expect him to fall asleep in the sled (which he did for a few minutes).
