For Labor Day weekend we went to northern WI with friends. Not exactly beach weather, but try telling Conrad that. We had a very nice time; in a mellow quiet kind of way. A little exploring, a little surfing, playing in the sand, hiking. We rented a cabin so we got to enjoy a kitchen, electricity and running water. In the evenings we would sit back and visit, drink hot cocoa on the front porch, eat choc chip cookies (did I mention the kitchen? There was even an oven!)
I was a little hesitant about traveling so far with two kiddos, dreading how long 5 hours may seem with fussing/whining/multiple stops. Turned out to be a very nice road trip - both ways - with lots of sleeping happening in the backseat.
