clear arctic air

Last night (as Tim and I were hiking in at 10:30pm) we saw something for the first time...from our driveway we could see the top of buildings in downtown Rochester. We could also see the wind turbines in Dodge Center to the west, but we've seen those before on clear days. To actually see the buildings of downtown Rochester though - THAT is our new definition of clear air.

Speaking of arctic air - this morning is our new record at the yurt. Our thermometer was reading double digits below zero and we stayed out there (comfortably I may add!). This morning it was reading -17.9* outside, and a balmy 70* inside. Aaaah - home sweet home. Now if only we could drive up to our door instead of 1/2 mile away....
