Yesterday Tim wasn't feeling well, and apparently Conrad wasn't either. We had plans to meet a few other couples for dinner so I took Conrad across the street while Tim rested (how convenient they live so close to my parents house!) . I hardly finished dinner before Conrad got sick. There's just no warning with kids, is there? In retrospect, he was clingy and cuddly and maybe a little quiet. But really, he can be that way when perfectly healthy and in a new situation. (the "new" part wasn't being at this house, it was the addition of another child his size...and a couple adults he probably didn't recognize since we don't see them very often)
Anyway, Conrad and I left before dessert and went to check on Tim. No improvement there. Mom offered we could stay the night, but Tim was pretty sure he could make it home. I wasn't so sure, but if he was willing to try it I was game. (who doesn't prefer to be home when they're not feeling well??). So we packed up. Or rather, I packed everyone up, plus our laundry and some groceries I had picked up earlier. I drove, which seemed really weird. Usually when I'm driving my only passenger is Conrad! When we got to our driveway, I assured Tim that if he could get himself to the yurt, I would take of everything else. I didn't exactly want to carry Conrad on my back, lest he get sick again. So he went in the sled with all the above mentioned items (groceries and laundry). I hauled my first load, unloaded at the yurt, read a story for CW, put him down for bed then geared up again for round two. We also had a 7gallon jug of water in the trunk (and a few other little things) that wouldn't fit in the sled since CW was riding the first time. I walked back to the car alone and realized this was one of the first times Tim and CW had been left together in the yurt. Its much more common for Tim to head out to do whatever while CW and I stayed in. This was kind of neat. I was totally alone. The sun was setting, I could hear a dog barking at a nearby farm but otherwise it was quiet.
The night was uneventful, we all slept well and Tim was feeling much better this morning. We got ready for church, were about to leave and CW got sick again. So much for church. He's down napping now (going on 3 1/2 hours!) and we may still attempt Easter dinner with family in Byron.
Happy Easter!!
