Quarry Hill Nature Camp

Conrad attended QH nature camp again this summer and seemed to enjoy it even more than last time.  His favorite activities were singing and crafts.  And some of the hikes.  He grew especially fond of Dee (pictured on right with him).  Towards the end of the week he asked me about guitar lessons which left me wondering where that came from.  Then I discovered Dee plays...so he likes the guitar because she plays, or he likes her because she plays the guitar?  Either way I think music lessons of any sort is a great idea in future years!
We fell into a routine over the course of the week.  Up "early", eat breakfast, pack lunch and start driving.  It takes nearly 30 minutes from our place to get to Quarry Hill :(
Drop off Conrad, spend a couple hours girl time with Norrie, return to Quarry Hill to pick up Conrad and hike up to pond pavilion for a picnic lunch.  We had just the right amount of time for lunch each day (and sometimes a little extra for a short hike) before packing up and making the drive back to Byron to drop kids off at daycare.

On Friday though...Tim was with me to pick up Conrad and have a picnic because from there we were heading to Chicago!
